Dear Aunt Claudette, Cousins David & Nadine,

While browsing, I found this site recording Memories of my Uncle Emile. At first, I remembered the countless times Grand Mother Ghandoura's calling me by Emile, Fayez, Samir, .. until she reaches Elie.

I remember my first couple of days I spent at your Montreal residence in 1976. I remember the trip to Lake Philip. I also remember the countless barbecues we used to be invited to at your first Ottawa residence in the Carlingwood area. I remember the treasure hunt we participated in that snowy February night. I remember the countless hockey games we watched Saturday nights. So many memories stream in front of my eyes. I also remember your presence at my wedding in Montreal.

What I want to say that distances & work might separate us, but wonderful memories & souvenirs will never be forgotten. Isabelle & the children (Alicia-Marie, Georges-Elie, Alexie-Anne, & my wonderful Grand Daughter Elodie-Marie (Alicia's daughter with Nicolas Lefebvre, my son in law)) wish to express their love to you & your families.

Father Hanna had a beautiful influence on my life, and as one of his Altar Boys and parishioners.  I remember him as a devout, strict, ambitious man of faith, who properly expected his Altar Boys and Choir Members to appreciate the enlightened disciplines of service.  His example served me very well in life, as a nicely impressionable young man.  In later years, I was delighted when he took an interest in my university studies in philosophy and theology - it was an adult phase moment of further bonding between us.  I might have sinned with him however, for even when I had committed no apparent sins in a given week, I would enter confession simply to spend a few quiet moments with him at the side of the Altar.  Young men need good role models and he was one of mine, and so I remain grateful, and having had the privilege of working in the service of God's greatest wishes for us,  with his beautifully spirited wife, daughter and son.  God Bless his Life, commitments, family, and numerous good deeds.

Dear Claudette and family!
I am deeply saddened to learn of Father Emile's falling asleep in the Lord. I will always remember those wonderful years of choir, Sunday school and great comedy plays with his guidance and all of St. Elijah's church activities and most of all his beautiful voice.  Always a smile and a warm greeting for everyone.  May God Bless His Kind Soul, Bless you all and compensate you with good health, peace and great memories.  May His Memory Be ETERNAL. He was a gentle and loving person. Alla Yerhamou!!!

Dear Claudette, David and Nadine and families,

It is with sadness that we heard about the passing of Father Emile.  We had a beautiful friendship throughout the years so much that he would ensure he stopped in every time he was in town to the cleaners.  We learned a lot from him.  We know how difficult the journey of losing someone so wonderful is and know that heaven has gained a beautiful individual and voice. He touched each of us with his wisdom and kindness.  May his memory be eternal.

Dear Claudette and Family,

Father Emile was one of the few priests that I can bring myself to address as Father.  I was an altar boy at St. Elijah's in Ottawa when Father Emile met with us in the rectory as the new incoming priest.  He came across as personal, humble and considerate.  I had the greatest of respect for him.  His demeanor and down to earth personality will forever be remembered by many.  God bless.
