Ethel Mary Lynch

Surrounded by her loving children, Mom passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25 at age 94. Predeceased by Denny (2006), her much-loved husband of 61 years, and by her infant daughter Mary. Proud mother of Sharyn (Dave Harris) of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Elaine (Bill Hollingsworth), Terry (Marlyn McGaghran) and Bev (Orvill Adams) of Ottawa. Mom also deeply loved her eight grandchildren and was delighted by her fourteen “extra-special” great-grandchildren. Mom combined her role as a homemaker with a career in banking. Throughout these years and into her retirement with Dad, Mom enjoyed a variety of activities including winters in Florida, international travel, golf, bridge, square dancing, and time with family and friends. Personable and affable, Mom loved a good laugh and her sense of humor was enjoyed by all. Mom was also a devout Catholic and much of her remarkable strength came from her lifelong steadfast faith. Mom valued kindness, independence, strength, and being true to yourself, which is her legacy to her family. We will miss Mom very much. We thank the medical professionals at the Civic Hospital who cared for Mom with utmost respect and dignity, and Father Pereira of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church for his great kindness.
