

Peacefully, at home on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in her 91st year. Loving wife of the late Fred Clark and mother of Glenn and Warren (Joyce Anderson), both of Gloucester. Predeceased by her parents Henry Haas and Emma Radke. She is also survived by her brother Lester Haas, and sister-in laws Bev (late Ron Clark), Beverly (late Doug Clark), Thelma (late Art Clark), Lois (late Harold Clark) as well as many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born on August 25, 1920 in Pembroke Ontario and grew up in the village of Alice in the railway section house. Her family moved to Rideau Park in the summer of 1935 and she then attended the High School of Commerce. Upon graduation, she worked at Zellers on Sparks Street during the war years. Afterwards, she worked in the Accounting office at the Civic Hospital until she married Fred on June 3, 1950. Later, she worked at Revenue Canada processing income tax returns. Evelyn thought the world of Fred and they shared almost 42 happy years together and she was a devoted and loving mom. Evelyn was also very active in the church and served on the Altar Guild, the Ladies’ Guild and was the Auditor and Treasurer at St. James’ Anglican Church Leitrim. Despite declining health, she retained her sweet disposition to the very end. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2011 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service in McEvoy-Shields Chapel on Saturday at 11 am. Interment at Capital Memorial Gardens.
