Florian "Hap" Bélanger

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 5, 2016. Dear son of the late Euclide Bélanger and the late Adrienne Marceau. Beloved husband of the late Denise Blondeau. Devoted father of Christiane (Roy) Grogan and Andrée (David) Hopp. Cherished step-grandfather of Steven Hopp. Survived by his cousin Col. J. Aurèle Bélanger. Veteran of the Korean War 1951-1952. Retired from 32 years of Military service. From 1965 to 1968 he was a bass drummer in the RCAF Rockliffe Pipes and Drums Band. Worked for 10 years as a Commissionnaire at the Bank of Canada. Member of the Canadian Legion. Florian volunteered at the Montfort Hospital and at the Shepherds of Good Hope for 10+ years. Florian lived a full life which included working and travelling overseas, in the USA and Canada. He had an active social life with loyal friends. He enjoyed golfing, swimming, coin and stamp collecting and trading. He will be missed by many. A special thank you to the caring staff of Le Manoir Héritage. Family and friends are invited to Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home 180 Montreal Rd, on Tuesday January 12 for visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 and a Memorial Service at 10:30 followed by a light lunch.
