Dear Anne Marie;

Please accept our most sincere condolences during this time of great loss. We are so pleased that we had the honour and pleasure of getting to know both you and Fred at St. Margaret Mary’s parish. Fred was a man of great faith and had a heart of gold. Certainly, our Blessed Lord will welcome his eternal soul into paradise. Fred gave his entire life in the service of Christ and others. He fought the good fight and will now receive his crown of magnificent glory.

I knew Fred as Father Miller when he was in Flin Flon.  He was a very gentle, caring and compassionate priest and was well loved by many.  He was a good man and our earth was made better with his being in it.  My condolences to his wife and family and all the loved ones who are mourning his loss.  RIP Fred.

Dear Anne-Marie, Sending you love and deepest condolences on the passing of Fred. He was such a kind person, always interested and engaged. I was blessed to know Fr. Fred when I was child, attended a concert of the Nylons with him as a teenager (!) and re-connected with him and Anne-Marie at St. Margaret Mary’s Parish, where he was a grandfatherly figure to all who had the pleasure to know him. He will be sadly missed, may he Rest In Peace.

Both myself and my spouse Conrad wish to extend our sincere sympathies to the family.  Fred was a gentle and loving man with a great sense of humor and always ready to lend a helping hand.  We keep fond memories of his kindness toward our mother when she was in the Finch Villa.  May Fred RIP.  Conrad and Shirley Racine.

Thank you for letting me know of Fred's passing.  May I offer my deepest heartfelt condolences to your and Fred's family.   I fondly remember when you and Fred were neighbors down the hall and how kind, thoughtful and supportive you were to my late husband Joe and I.  Fred has earned his place in heaven.

I always enjoyed talking with Fred at St. Margret Mary's Sunday socials. I'm very glad I met him. 

Ann Marie, you have our sincere condolences on the passing of Fred.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Fred was a kind, caring man who reached out to others.  It is fitting that we honour his request that we lend a loving hand to someone in need.  May he rest in peace.

Saddened by the news of the death of Frederick Miller.  What a wonderful life he has led, and what a kind and thoughtful friend he has been.  My thoughts and prayers are with Anne-Marie and his other family members and friends.  Fred and Anne-Marie were very kind and supportive when my own husband David William Dewar (“Bill”) was dying.  They continued their faithful support with prayers at the grave site as my husband was laid to rest.  I will never forget♥️.🙏

A favourite memory: having known Fred since he baptized our 2nd child in 1970 and was a leader for the Charismatic movement in Montreal ... I recall the several times since then that I heard his recounting of the story of "Albert and the Lion" with full English accent ; usually he'd do this / 'his' party-piece at one of his own birthdays !

And those early years for him, at St. Patrick of the Island Parish on Ile Perrot in Mtl.  ...  he was there with two other Oblates Fr. Joe Kane and Andy Takach. What a team ! and what a brilliant and 'holy' wit he had . Thanks to Anne Marie for your constant and loving care .

Fred was a wonderful friend for 49 years. He was our parish priest at St Michael’s and St Gabriel’s, and baptized our younger son, Marcus. Our three children were all very fond of him.  The Church was still in a period of openness following Vatican II and we were able to plan exciting liturgies with Fred leading and guiding us. Our friendship remained constant during Fred’s years of struggles and we were delighted to attend his wedding to Anne Marie who has been such a support to him. He was always sympathetic to our problems and supported Jocelyn in her work to gain equality for women in the Church. He will be greatly missed, and we send our love and prayers to Anne Marie and his family and friends.

I am deeply sorry for the passing of a dear friend of our family. Fred shared many moments in our household with my parents Roland  and Isabelle. We celebrated many birthdays and happy times. I met Fred as “Father Fred” at Queen of Angels. I invited myself for lunch at his big lonely table to announce it was time for him to eat lunch with us, the students. From that moment on when he came to the cafeteria and he did most days, it was a relationship I would always cherish. He made me laugh as he was quick witted and that smile...wow! I told teachers whose class I didn’t like that Father Miller wanted to see me. I’d go and spend time chattering away; he was always a refuge.  He listened always and made me feel  welcome.  When he moved to Carleton Place, training noviciates to be Christian brothers, our family went to visit him! We had a glorious picnic, and I made friends with one of the the brothers who I still see to this day! I have always kept in touch with Fred, and I will surely miss that beautiful smile and delightful giggle! God Bless you Fred.

There are those in our lives whose presence is a positive influencer of our characters.  Uncle Fred shared that presence with us and was a profound influencer in the way he led his life as a Son, Brother, Priest, Uncle, Husband, and Friend.  He was keenly interested in our doings; he was a great listener, compassionate, definitely witty, a genuine, kind and gentle man. While we’ll miss sharing stories with you, we take comfort in knowing you are being welcomed into your forever home in Heaven.  Love Greg & Allison.

Dearest Anne Marie - my heart sank when I heard the news of Fred yesterday.  You were each other's  'rock and steadfast' for so many years.  Certainly I am not there in person, but I truly hold you in the my thoughts and prayers - xoxo
