Peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the age of 77 years. Loving father of Debbie (Denis), Jennifer (Dave), Stephanie, Colleen, John (Alison) and Jill. Jack will be greatly missed by his closest and dearest friend Joan Baizana. Beloved grandpa of Cassidy, Cole, Madison, Blake, Alexa and Keeley. Survived by his sister Barbara Egan, also by his niece Cathy and nephews Tom and James and dear friends Vince Creaco and Steven Menard. Jack was Past President of the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario, the Ottawa Insurance Brokers Association and the Minto Skating Club. He was also a former School Board Trustee with the Ottawa Roman Catholic Separate School Board as well as a Knight of Columbus and a lifelong member of the Liberal Party of Canada. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Ottawa General I.C.U. and the staff at Windsor Park Manor for their excellent care. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 1-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 1940 Saunderson Drive, followed by private cremation. In memoriam donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
