

Peacefully with family by his side at the Perley-Rideau Long Term Care Facility in Ottawa, March 2, 2012 in his 97th year. Born in Ottawa, Jim served for 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring in 1967. He completed his career with the Civil Service retiring in 1985. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 71 years, Amy Isabel Ryan; his brother Gordon and sister Edna Turner. Jim is survived by his children Susan and Bob (Dianne), two grandchildren Angela (Alain) and Anthony (Colleen) Wallis and ex-daughter-in-law, Betty Wallis; four great-grandchildren, Emilie and Laura Drouin and Ryan and Kaylyn Wallis. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Doctors Graham and Hamilton, the staff volunteers. Special thanks to nurse Brenda of Rideau South. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Tuesday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Perley-Rideau Long Term Care Facility.
