Born and raised in Ottawa, Jane was a lifelong athlete, adventurer, and joyful storyteller. From ski racing and tennis championships to summers at Camp Oconto, her love for the outdoors began early and never faded.
She was educated at Sacred Heart School in Montreal and later attended Saint Patrick’s College in Ottawa and the University of Toronto, always eager to learn and ready for the next adventure.
She welcomed five children in six years and raised them with love, fun, and an unstoppable energy for all things active and outdoors, energy that carried through to her 14 cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jane’s career spanned from American Airlines to a top travel executive, and later, an entrepreneur known for her creativity and wit. Whether writing A Woman’s Guide to Hockey, launching Kingston’s Coffee News, or creating playful hockey-themed placemats, she never stopped innovating.
She marked 43 proud years of sobriety and quietly supported many others on their journey. Jane was deeply loving, effortlessly stylish, and endlessly fun; a woman who led with love and lit up every room with her sparkle and stories.
She was devoted to her beloved Aussie Shepherds and many cats, especially Bridget, who was rarely far from her side.
Jane spent 27 joyful years in her Amberwood community, moving in with an open heart, supporting those around her, and later receiving that same love and care in return from her wonderful neighbors.
Jane leaves a legacy of joy, strength, and unconditional love. Her presence made life brighter for everyone around her, and her absence will be deeply felt. She is missed beyond words.
