Jane Mary (Jennie) Antosz

June 11, 1925September 30, 2019

Antosz, Jennie nee Rozmarniewicz passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on September 30, 2019 at the age of 94.

She was the daughter of the late Anna Karasiewicz and the late Nicolas Rozmarniewicz and wife of the late Eddy Antosz. She is survived by her children Eddie (Fabienne) and Evie (Jay,) her grand-children Tiffany and Soren, her brother Caz and sister Vicky. Her sister Alice has pre-deceased her.

She is also pre-deceased by Julio and Bob and also pre-deceased by her special friends Julio and Bob.

Jennie had a long and fulfilling life. She was a natural sales person, a skill which she used in the social arena. No one was a stranger to Jennie and she was quick to make friends with everyone she met. The secret of her charm was to make everyone feel special.

Although she began her working career as an information operator for “The Bell,” she promptly sold the company on the idea of making her a sales person and spent the remainder of her working career selling ads for the Yellow Pages.

The mandolin was no stranger to her. She played all her life and In her later years, Jennie and Eddy played in a band and entertained all their listeners. Fortunately for the world she chose not to sing as she couldn’t carry a tune.

During her early years she was involved with The Polish White Eagle Society in Montreal. She served for many years on various committees - organizing events, coordinating volunteers and generally being the “boss.”

The Church played an integral part of her life. During her last years in Montreal she was active in St Brendan’s Parish. Her favourite fundraising activity was the Annual Fashion Show where she revelled in the idea that she “sold” men from the parish on the idea of modelling women’s clothing. She and Father Paul also worked hard to outdo each other in their annual cooking contest.

Jennie travelled extensively. China, Russia, Europe, South America especially Brazil, the South Pacific were all stops on her journey. But of course, the place she visited most frequently was Las Vegas.

Donations in memory of Jennie can be made to the Alzheimers’ Association.

You've done a wonderful job of caring for your mom. You've kept her close but independent and safe.

Know that I am thinking of you and yours as you gather to mourn your mother's passing while also celebrating her long life.

I will always remember the sound of her laughter, the welcome energy of her home and that feel good aura of her presence.
Many a week end spent with university friends and music blasting from the basement!

Thank you Mrs Antosz

I will always remember Ciocia Jennie as kind and warm person. She was quick to play cards with us when we were little and she knitted me many beautiful scarves. She was welcoming and let us stay in her home when we would come to visit. She never said no to a trip to the casino! She will be dearly missed.

When we moved to Montreal in 1976, Jenny and Eddie became an integral part of our family. They had us over for dinner frequently and she always made our favourite foods. We went to dances together and played cards and got to know and love our extended family. She made our move easier knowing we had left everyone behind back in Ontario. Mandy was only a baby and Missy soon to follow. Jenny treated them as her own and they loved spending time with her and Eddie. We will miss her very much and know she is looking down from heaven. Rest In Peace Jenny. I’m sure your up in heaven reacquainted with old friends and family. Love Debbie, Brian, Mandy and Missy. 💞
