Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Suzanne, ses enfants; Michèle (Jean Lamothe), Jean (Wendy Coopman), Marc (Heather Blenkiron), Lise (Rob Cataford), André (Karla Rahn) ainsi que plusieurs petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants.
Diplômé de la faculté de médecine de l’Université d’Ottawa en 1955, il a travaillé comme médecin généraliste à Welland pendant 25 ans et à l’Association de protection médicale pendant 14 ans. Il a pris sa retraite en 1994 pour s’adonner à ses deux passions, le golf et le chalet familial au nord d’Ottawa. Il a aimé ses années en pratique et en retour était aimés par ses patients et respecté par ses collègues.
Il s’est fait de nombreux amis au cours de sa carrière, Il a été actif au sein du Club Richelieu de Welland en tant que président et gouverneur régional pour le sud de l’Ontario. Il a présidé le comité qui a créé la première école secondaire publique de langue française de la province, l’école secondaire Confédération, à Welland. Il était un joueur de bridge passionné et exceptionnel.
Il aimait chanter, rire, boire du bon vin, sa famille et ses amis. Maintenant qu’il jouit d’un repos bien mérité, on se souviendra de lui comme un homme courageux, généreux et intègre dont l’exemple nous guidera tous.
Selon le désir de Maurice les funérailles auront lieu dans l’intimité de la famille.

After a full and blessed life, the family of Maurice Patry wish to announce his peaceful passing on March 14, 2024.
He and Suzanne were married in 1955 and were seldom apart. Proud father of Michèle (Jean Lamothe), Jean (Wendy Coopman), Marc (Heather Blenkiron), Lise (Rob Cataford) and André (Karla Rahn). He will be greatly missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine in the class of 1955. He worked as a general practitioner in Welland for 25 years and at the Canadian Medical Protective Association for 14 years. He retired in 1994 to indulge in his two passions, golf and the family cottage north of Ottawa. He loved being a family doctor and was loved by his patients and respected by his colleagues.
He made numerous friends in his successful career. He was active in the Club Richelieu de Welland as President and Regional Governor for southern Ontario. He chaired the Committee that established the first public French language high school in the province, école secondaire Confédération in Welland. He was an avid and exceptional bridge player and belonged to many clubs.
He loved singing, laughing, good wine, a good conversation, dear family and friends. Now that he enjoys a well-deserved rest, he is remembered as a man of courage, integrity and generosity whose example will guide us all.
In accordance with Maurice’s wishes, the funeral will be held privately amongst family.
