Peacefully at St. Vincent`s Hospital on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the age of 70 years. Loving mother of Hugh (Reeann) and Wesley (Maddalena), Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Jayden, Matteo and Filippo. She was the daughter of the late Lubbert Vandemheen and Grietje Vandemheen (Termaat). Sister to the late Alberta (the late Dirk North and the late Leendert North), the late Eib (the late Lloyd Leeman) of New Brunswick, Rene (Carol) Vandemheen of Winchester, Bill (Phyllis) Vandemheen of South Mountain, Mac (Ann) Vandemheen of Williamsburg, Alice (Albert) Luimes of New Brunswick, the late Grace (Gerry) Cooper of Kemptville, Ali (Andrew) Van Beilen of Morrisburg, Jake (the late Dawn) Vandemheen of Florida, Lubbert (Wanda) of South Mountain, Adriaan (Wilda) Vandemheen of Dixons Corners. Jean left behind many cherished friends. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A celebration of Jean`s life will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11 am in McEvoy-Shields Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation- Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
