C’est avec grande tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès de dame Jeanne Verreault survenu samedi le 2 novembre 2019 à l’âge de 87 ans au campus général de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa. Elle était la fille de feu Alfred et Robertine (née LaRivière) Verreault. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa sœur ainée, dame Thérèse Verreault d’Ottawa, ses cousines, mesdames Louise Cinq-Mars et Andrée Trottier de Montréal ainsi que plusieurs amis.
Jeanne a vécu tout le long de sa vie au sein de sa communité située à la Côte-de-Sable, Ottawa en compagnie de ses deux sœurs ainées, Thérèse et feu Hélène. Jeanne fit carrière comme fonctionnaire au sein de la Fonction publique fédérale, notamment au service de la comptabilité du Ministère des affaires extérieures durant une trentaine d’années. Une fois retraitée, Jeanne s’impliqua pleinement comme bénévole au sein de l’Association libérale fédérale de Ottawa-Vanier pour aider à développer ce mouvement. Elle possédait un vif esprit et s’intéressait beaucoup aux affaires publiques tant au Canada qu’à l’étranger. De compagnie très agréable, elle avait le sourire facile et amical. Bien mise et d’une esthétique élégante, Jeanne était toujours tirée à quatre épingles.
La famille sera présente pour recevoir les condoléances à partir de 1h00 p.m. le samedi 23 novembre 2019 à la maison funéraire Racine, Robert et Gauthier, 180 rue Montréal, Ottawa, K1L 1B4. Un court service commémoratif suivra à 2h00 p.m.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Verreault on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the age of 87 at the Ottawa General Hospital. Jeanne was the daughter of the late Alfred and Robertine (née LaRivière) Verreault. She leaves in sorrow her loving sister Mrs. Thérèse Verreault from Ottawa as well as her cousins Mrs. Louise Cinq-Mars and Mrs. Andrée Trottier from Montréal as well as many friends.
Throughout her long life, Jeanne lived within the community of Sandy-Hill, City Ottawa with her two older sisters, Thérèse and the late Hélène who passed in 2016. Jeanne pursued her professional career in the Federal Public Service at the employ of the Finance Division of the then Department of External Affairs for close to three decades. Following her retirement, Jeanne became involved as a volunteer with the Ottawa-Vanier Federal Liberal Association to help develop this movement. Blessed with a sharp and open mind, she kept abreast of public affairs both in Canada and abroad. She always looked chic and elegant with a broad welcoming smile.
Families and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, November 23, 2019 1:00 p.m. at Racine, Robert et Gauthier, 180 Montréal Road, Ottawa, K1L 1B4. A short Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
