John W. Knapp passed peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital in his 97th year. Predeceased by his wife Joan and son Brian.
John was a Navy man in WW2 who was stationed off the coast of Scotland on the Annan Frigate. The crew of the Annan participated in numerous exchanges with the Nazi’s and even sank a U-Boat.
He will be missed by his son Chris Knapp, daughters Cheryl & Tracy Knapp, grandchildren Hanna and Andrew Carmichael and great grandchildren Kasey-Lynn, Ever-Leigh Rose and Tanner Carmichael.
A soldier to the end, he left us gracefully and peacefully.
We would like to thank the Ottawa General Hospital for their care, they truly are soldiers and heroes at this time.
Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life will be determined at a later date. In memory of John, kindly consider a donation to the Heart & Stoke Foundation.
