Passed away peacefully at the age of 82 of a sudden heart attack, with his wife and daughter holding his hands. Graduating B. Comm. from St. Pat's College in 1958, he began a long career as a gifted educator and a dedicated vice principal for the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Education. Beloved husband of Shirley, proud and loving father of Cathy (Mike) and Jeff (Pam) and loving grandfather of Stephanie, Sean and Melanie Langemeyer and Allison and Andrew Smuk. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Helen Smuk and his brothers, Ivan and Joseph Smuk. He is fondly remembered by his sister, Pauline Wardle and her son, Clifford Wardle. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute.
