After a long illness, Karl passed in his sleep on Monday. Survived by Nona, his wife of 64 years, and children Geoffrey (Barbara McDonald), Leona (Darren Helmer), and Alanna (David Thompson). Loving grandfather to Neil, Erin, Matthew, Emily, Shaun, Kaitlyn and great grandfather to Rylee Anne.
A life long educator, Karl taught at many schools in Ottawa and the seaway valley, culminating his 35 year career as an assistant superintendent. Thank you to the caring team at St. Vincent’s 4 North.
Visitation for Karl will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON. A chapel service will follow in the chapel.
