On behalf of my family, our condolences on such a loss. We are an OCTC family and she worked with my twin boys. Always a smiling face meeting us for appointments - no matter what! May she rest in peace.

I had the privilege of working closely with Kim when CHEO was implementing EPIC in CTC.  She was such a joy to work with: organized, quick to learn and integrate, funny, easy to talk to; an inspiration to all.  My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved her.

Celebration of life was a touching and really reflected her spirit. My thoughts to Tom and Zoe at this difficult time.

Yesterday I watched so many people come together to mourn the loss of Kim and then also watched as small groups formed where people began to tell others what they meant to them, and hug and cry and smile through their tears. It was an outpouring of love and grief and community that we rarely get to witness these days . Young and old and somewhere in between all united in their love for Kim and Tom and Zoe and each other. 
It was so fitting a tribute to Kim and all that she would have wanted. 
I'll hold that in my heart forever.

To Zoe and Tom and all of Kim’s beloved family and friends, the celebration of life today was so meaningful and exactly captured Kim - a pivotal member of our book club - as the kind, gentle soul that she was.

I can’t describe how thankful and grateful I am for Kim! She opened up my world for communication and adaptive technology when I was only 3. I haven’t been able to shut up since. Haha. I gave her countless problem-solving lists and she never gave up and never disappointed. I’m going to miss her dedicated care and support of my journey to university and beyond. Kim was a gift to the children in Ottawa. As an OCDSB special education teacher, I am so grateful to Kim for her support of my students and the teaching team to make communication accessible for so many children. 
Her expertise and kind and patient soul made her a joy to work with. I always enjoyed collaborating with Kim and we had some great conversations that often ended with a chuckle. 
She will be missed but has left the world a better place.

I had the pleasure of working with Kim in the Ontario AAC community.  As a clinician, she was a wealth of knowledge and a gift to her clients.  As a colleague, Kim was always warm, welcoming and eager to share.  I am so sorry to hear of Kim's passing.  What a loss for the OT community, and everyone who knew her.

My deepest sympathy to the family.  Kim was a loving, caring kind person with a smile that warmed your heart. She was a walking Angel with a glow. She will be greatly missed by many that she touched our hearts.

Dear Tom, Zoe, and family, 
We were so sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. We have lovely memories of her smile and friendly catch-ups.  Kaleidoscope played an important role in introducing our kids to the joy of reading. And we still laugh about our small-world story when the three Ks passed the window of a restaurant in Rome where we were enjoying pizza, and the jaw drops when they did a quick reverse.

To Tom, Zoe and all of Kim's family and friends my sincere condolences.  Thinking of all who had the greatest pleasure of meeting Kim, and how they will miss her wonderful spirit and positive energy.  

I truly appreciated all the work Kim did for Twice Upon a Time as a founding member and as a board member.  I am grateful for Kim mentoring me when I took over for her has Chair of the Twice Upon a Time Acquisitions Committee.  I could not have done it without  her  support and guidance.

That uniquely “Kim” smile and wave❤️

Zoe and Tom, we were so very saddened to hear that Kim had been ill and of her passing. We first met Kim 23 years ago when our daughters started Jk together at Hopewell PS and we shared so many wonderful memories as they were growing up; first days of school, holiday concerts and year end barbecues not to mention many, many birthday parties. When the 3 K’s opened Kaleidoscope Books we were very pleased to be able  to share every milestone and hear about all the newest plans and activities. Kim always had a recommendation for the next book on my reading list and the best suggestions for just the right book for a special someone. It was such a wonderful experience to see Kim together with Kelly and Karen making their dreams a reality. I have always loved running into Kim in our neighbourhood. She had such a wonderful, welcoming smile. She was always quick to share what you two were up to and how life was progressing.  She was always so proud of you, Zoe. Kim was great mom, a great friend, a great neighbour and a great colleague who will be sadly missed. She shared so much love with you two. Take care of each other.

Dear Zoe and Tom 
I am so sad to hear of Kim's passing. It's been said already but it is so true, she was such a loving and funny and generous person. She loved you both with a passion that was apparent at all times,  whether she was speaking about the two of you or if one were in your presence watching how you all were together. Her love shone out like a beacon for all to see. She will be so very missed and while there will always be an empty space, I hope that her love for both of you will continue to shine and light your way.

Zoe, your Mom was indeed the Best Mom Ever - and loved you so much and was very proud of you 🩷.  I was fortunate to became friends with her shortly after you were born through our Mom’s group. Her absolute joy in being your Mom was so evident. 

Kim was a dear friend - generous, kind, warm, caring, thoughtful, inclusive, wise, funny - always looking out for others, and gently helping where she could.  She brought people together. Her friendship was a great gift and I already miss her 🩷.  

Kim also had an important impact on many children, parents and families throughout the neighbourhood and region, from the Mom’s group, Hopewell families, Old Ottawa South and Glebe families, Kaleidoscope books fans, CHEO etc. - her goodness and many, many acts of kindness and caring made our community and the world a better place.  

May all the good memories bring comfort during this difficult time.

Dear Tom and Zoe, We are deeply saddened by this news. Kim was a wonderful human; warm, compassionate, and such a pleasure to work with. I always looked forward to a shift with her at the bookstore, working side by side, chatting and laughing all the while. She was even more fun to hang out with after hours! Colin and I wish we could attend the memorial service to express our condolences in person, and to celebrate Kim's life and extraordinary contributions, but we are now living in Halifax. Knowing how popular Kim was, I'm sure the place will be packed. Sending you love and hugs. XO

I want to wish Kim’s family my condolences. Kim was a a great neighborhood friend and colleague at OCTC/CHEO. We first worked together as part of the school team when we were challenged with some very complex clients who needed technology, seating and mobility. After I retired from OCTC/CHEO but worked part time in the community I occasionally reached out to Kim as a resource. Kim was a great problem solver and had time for people.

So sorry to hear of Kim’s passing. My son and I belonged to a mother and baby group with Kim and for the first years of our children’s lives, our little gang met frequently and shared potlucks, playdates and picnics. Kim was always so very generous and giving, which no doubt shaped all she was as a mother to Zoe. May her memory be a blessing. Eva and Noah

I am truly sorry to hear of Kim's passing.  I worked with Kim for 10 years  at the Clinic for Augmentative Communication at OCTC.  She was a lovely person - so well respected and so liked as a Team member and as a therapist.  She is remembered fondly.

I have so many happy memories of times with Kim and think of the time when our little group of colleagues tried to set up a private OT business and our celebration when we thankfully did not win the contract! Kim’s sunny and positive attitude has touched me and everyone at CHEO/OCTC she has worked with, whether staff or clients.  With her work family at CAC, we will always treasure special times spent with Kim on our “wine weekends” in PEI as well as other CAC social events over the years. Kim was always patient and supportive as a colleague. I have so many memories of Kim that I will treasure. She helped so many people in her career.
