On March 21st, 2024, at 10:47 PM Linda, the true love of my life was delivered to heaven by God. She was my wife, my friend, my partner for over 50 years and was a remarkable person. Linda never backed down, and as you all know she was the boss. Family was so important to her, and we shared this love of watching our family grow while always remembering our extended families.
For the last two and a half years we were together at home daily. Despite her physical limitations, it was the happiest time being together. Talking, laughing, planning, and having visits from our loved ones and friends. She was proud of our two sons and families, and we had both invested time and effort with our granddaughters. They are all blossoming into beautiful responsible girls, and she was proud of every one of their accomplishments and was always available to help and assist with their missteps.
She will be missed but always loved and remembered by our oldest son David and his partner Heather. Our youngest son Jeffery and his wife Heather. Mom was proud of all of you and never stopped being your Mom no matter how old you are. She was pleased at how talented the Heathers are and loved them as her own.
The joy of her life was being blessed with seven beautiful granddaughters each with their own personality. Maddison, Zoe, Mia, Reegan, Avery, Ryan, and Lainie she loved you all and was so enormously proud of you. She is with the angels and looking down on you.
She had lost her Mom and Dad and several of her uncles and aunts but continued to reach out to her extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family was so important to her.
At this point, she would have spelled: ‘’R, A, Y, you forgot my siblings and their families”. Not so. Wendy, Chris, Danny, Lisa, and Shelly, she loved you. Debbie, Harrold, Scott, Jason, Austin, and Jacob you were always in her thoughts. Garry, Linda, Renée, Remi, Adrian, and Nathan, she enjoyed all the moments we spent together and cherished the special occasions. My sister Debbie and John and their daughter Katie, what wonderful years we had together watching Katie grow up becoming the lovely person she is today. Aunt Linda loved the duck feet. Gordie you were the instigator and Linda loved you so much for being you. Randy physical distance separated you, but Linda would remember the time you lived with us and never let anyone forget you. Your last visit to Ottawa with Gordie and Garry made her so happy to talk to you and listen to the three of you banter. To Aunt Francis and Uncle David you were a model, and inspiration to her. Everyone in Brockville was so special to her she loved our visits and keeping track of the kids growing up. Aunt Lil, Uncle Bob (deceased) you were a mirror on how she wanted to live in marriage. Kathy and Jo Anne, you were always close in her heart and in mine. Uncle Mark and Aunt Lois thank you for having us participate in your lives and children’s accomplishments. Linda loved running into you at Loblaws. She had a memory and love for everyone in the Merriman Clan, the Milks family, the McFall family, and the Kincaid family. It was always so special to gather or have chance encounters that brought out tales of her youth and life. She enjoyed life so much. So, Darlene, Diane, Steve, Bobby, and Jill you can be assured that Linda told me tales that will remain our secret.
Stay strong everyone. Linda is with the angels looking down on us and smiling in serenity. Our little secret that was years in the making was to always say I love you at the end of each day and give each other a hug and kiss.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, starting with visitation at 12:30 p.m. then followed by a service at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Ottawa General Hospital, Ottawa Montfort Hospital or a charity of your choice can be made in honour of Linda St Aubin.
