À Ottawa, le 19 mars 2019, à l’âge de 95 ans, est décédée madame Lizette Belzile Gammon, épouse de feu Edward Gammon. Elle était la fille du notaire Gleason Belzile, M.P. et d’Irène Chamberland. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Anne (Normand Roy) et Philip (Nikki DesLauriers); ses petits-enfants Isabelle et François Leclerc et Geneviève Gammon-Roy, Chelsea et Charles Gammon; quatre arrière-petits enfants, Ophélie, Margot, Xavier et Thane. Elle laisse aussi ses soeurs Rachel (feu Émile Beaulieu), Marie (feu Guy Bélanger), Ursule et son frère Jacques (Lorraine Marcoux). Elle laisse ainsi ses neveux et nièces, que de nombreux amis. Elle rejoint ses frères Yves (feu Lorette Bruneau) et Louis (Pierrette Trudel) et ses soeurs Janine (feu Jean Thériault) et Françoise (feu Roger Rousseau). Elle rejoint aussi ses beaux-frères Gammon, George (feu Betty), Ernest (feu Jeanne), Fred (feu Lou) et Norman (feu Paulette) et sa belle-soeur Rita (feu M. Bélanger). Les visites auront lieu le dimanche 24 mars 2019, de 10 heures à 13 heures à Maison Funéraire Racine, Robert & Gauthier à 180, chemin de Montréal suivi d'un service aura lieu à 13 heures à la chapelle de la Maison Funéraire suivi par une réception de 14 heures à 16 heures. Au lieu de fleurs, la famille sera reconnaissante d'un don commémoratif à The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County. Née à Rimouski (Québec), Lizette a consacré sa vie à la fonction publique, entre autres au service de l'ancien Premier Ministre John Turner et à celui de l'honorable Claire l’Heureux-Dubé, ancienne Juge de la Cour Suprême du Canada. La famille tient à remercier le personnel de l’Hôpital Montfort et de la maison Revera The Edinburgh pour leur amour, soutien et les soins prodigués.
In Ottawa, on 19 March 2019, at the age of 95, Mrs. Lizette Belzile Gammon passed away, predeceased by her husband, Edward Gammon. She was the daughter of Gleason Belzile, M.P. and Irène Chamberland. Left to mourn are her children: Anne (Normand Roy) and Philip (Nikki DesLauriers); her grandchildren Isabelle and François Leclerc and Geneviève Gammon-Roy, Chelsea and Charles Gammon; and four great-grandchildren, Ophélie, Margot, Xavier and Thane. She leaves behind her sisters Rachel (the late Émile Beaulieu), Marie (the late Guy Bélanger), Ursule, and her brother Jacques (Lorraine Marcoux). She also leaves behind nephews and nieces, as well as numerous friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Yves (the late Lorette Bruneau) and Louis (Pierrette Trudel), and her sisters Janine (the late Jean Thériault) and Françoise (the late Roger Rousseau). She was also predeceased by her Gammon brothers-in-law, George (the late Betty), Ernest (the late Jeanne), Fred (the late Lou) and Norman (the late Paulette) and sister-in-law Rita (the late Mr. Bélanger). Condolences will be received on Sunday, March 24, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home at 180 Montreal Road, followed by a service at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Funeral Home and a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County will be appreciated. Lizette was born in Rimouski (Quebec) and devoted her life to the Public Service, in particular to former Prime Minister John Turner and the Honourable Claire L’Heureux-Dubé, former Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.
