

On July 15, 2014 in Ottawa, in her 94th year and after a long and wonderful life, beloved wife of the late Malcolm Norman “Mac” Davies (2011). Predeceased in 2002 by her son, Neil. Dear mother of Gary (Louise). Adored Gran of Sara (Chris Andrews), Robin (Elizabeth Waterman), Matt (Olivia Parkes), Mark (Mélanie Lefebvre) and Jennifer (Daryl Stewart) and great grandmother of Liam, Marin, Dylan, Briar, Milo, Xander, Zoé, Jérémy and Sam. Pat was born in Montreal, received her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in 1942, and then joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corps as a Lieutenant. She later studied art at Sir George Williams University. After her family, her main interests were bridge, music (a very talented contralto), and art. She created many church vestments and instituted Art Credo, an annual art show at the Church of St. John the Evangelist in Ottawa. In recognition of this effort, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. The wonderful care offered to Pat during her recent stay at the Ottawa General Hospital is much appreciated. Heartfelt and sincere thanks are due to the staff at the Perley Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre, where Pat had resided since 2008. Their thoughtfulness and affection made her time there a very happy one. A memorial service will be held at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Elgin and Somerset Streets, Ottawa, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014.
