Surrounded by her loving family, Margot Conklin passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Frank Conklin. Cherished mother of Tom (Allison), Susan, Mary Pat (Paul Kendall), Ann (Blake Seward) and Jim (Alicia Meno). Dear Nana to Braden, Emily, Daniel, Jamie, Rebecca, Benjamin, Chaim and Leila. Margot was predeceased by her parents Caroline McDonald and John McGill Roney and siblings Dorothy Raymond, Bud, Jack, Charlie, Mary and Frank. Survived by brothers Joe and Paul, son-in-law Ken, and many nieces and nephews. Margot was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Montreal and exemplified the true spirit of nursing in her devotion to others. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Monica’s and St. Martin de Porres parishes. Special thanks to Dr. Cathy Braidek and the Royal Ottawa Hospital. Many thanks for the care and support she received from the staff at Stillwater Creek, Carlingview Manor and St. Patrick’s Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Mission, the Royal Ottawa Hospital or Action Life would be greatly appreciated. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Friday, December 20 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass at 11 am on Saturday, December 21 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1758 Alta Vista Drive.
