Maria Amarantina Vieira

She immigrated to Canada from Jan Jorge, Azores Islands, Portugal in May of 1961. Maria was a very hard working lady, and loved to spent time in her garden. She also loved the retired life as she got to stay in White Lake with her husband and later back in Ottawa after the ice storm.

She is predeceased by her husband Alberto Vieira. She will be dearly missed by her sons Carlos Vieira and Henry Vieira (Anne), her grandson Michael Vieira (Monica), her great-grand-daughter Wren and many nieces and nephews in Portugal, Rhode Island and California.

A visitation for Maria will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Senhor Santo Cristo Church, 1100 Kenaston Street, Ottawa, ON the funeral mass will also be livestreamed at https://funeraweb.tv/diffusions/47192. Maria will be laid to rest at Beechwood Cemetery.
