Aged 83 years died peacefully at May Court Hospice on Monday, May 2, 2016, accompanied by his wife and son Stephen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Theresa (Tessa), his four sons Stephen (Catherine), Peter (Carlline), Andrew and Richard (Kim). He also leaves 6 grandchildren, Rowan, Devin, Nicole, Christian, Spenser and Serena, ranging in age from 34 to 8 years of age. He is survived by brothers Ken and Geoffrey and his sisters Philippa and ten nieces and nephews. Arriving in Canada in 1956, he spent 35 years working, first for Northern Electric and subsequently for Bell Canada. Heartfelt thanks go to the May Court Hospice and all the hospital caregivers over the past 3 weeks. The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (At Albion Road) on Saturday, May 7, 2016 after 2 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 3 pm in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Parkinson`s Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association or Hospice Care Ottawa for the May Court Hospice would be appreciated.
