Of course, my memories of Auntie Mary is like everyone else, she was kind and always very pleasant.

I know that my dad, Jack, always enjoyed staying overnight in Ottawa with Mary, Charley and Grandpa, back in the days he was working the freight trains between Montreal and Ottawa .   The fact that she was a great cook was a bonus!

Auntie Mary was always there to greet us at the cottage on our arrival  every summer. and always there to say good bye at the end of the season.   

I know she loved the Pumple family and was always interested in what everyone was doing.

She will be missed.

Aunt Mary and Uncle Charlie ,
Still cannot forget the two together. Next door every summer, in Ottawa at Grandpa's on Easters.
So many memories of cousins and birthday parties at the cottage. Aunt Mary was the best host ever.
Thanksgivings buried in 2 blankets in the annex , so cool a place. Many evenings my parents and others waiting for Uncle Charlie to arrive from Ottawa every Friday night. Aunt Mary always with a smile listening to Grandpa s stories.

I will always remember Aunty Mary , she was everybody 's Aunty Mary, lots of fun at Barcovan Beach , spending summer's there for years, she was a very special lady , never a cross word about anyone , she will be missed , memories of seeing her and Ann and Marg floating off the dock was priceless, always told her she must be drinking from the fountain of youth because she just never seemed to age.

My fondest memories of Aunt Mary is visiting her while she weeded her garden at the cottage which I lived beside her, we always shared a laugh together, I was lucky enough to have been invited to dinners with her and Charlie , she was a fabulous cook, kind to everyone, never a bad word about anyone , and what a looker she was even at 93  still very stunning.when fall approached Mary would always come over and tell me her vegetables were mine she  had left in the garden, ( and there were lots) so I always  tried to get it ready for her in the spring.Reed and I had loved being  able to take her for a boat ride around the island at Barcovan , I think she really enjoyed it. We also had a great visit with her this summer over drinks and snacks at her once cottage life. It was a great honour to have you in our life, you made the world a better place , and now heaven . We will miss you love Chick and Reed 


My favourite memory of Aunt Mary was her and Uncle Charlie dancing up a storm at my wedding reception (she later told me that it was also their wedding anniversary!). Always so helpful, kind and quick with a smile or a hug. Living far away and visiting infrequently I didn't  know her as well as I wish I had but I do know she was one of a kind and she raised 3 wonderful daughters who I have the pleasure of calling my cousins. Rest in peace Aunt Mary, I'll bet you are dancing with Charlie now...

Fondest memories of my Aunt Mary had to be when she came many times to visit us here on the West Coast since we were young and living on Jura Road. So divinely dressed for any occasion and more than willing to get involved with whatever we had planned for our adventures. She never missed a big occasion and she felt like an Aunt who didn't live across the country. More like a very lovely lady who seemed to touch many with her kind words, her sweet smile and cheerful little laugh.

May Mary now be in God's peace and light.  I first met her while she was living in Embassy West Seniors Residence.  She also attend St. Elizabeth Parish where I am pastor.  She was a beautiful person.  We will miss her.
