Passed away peacefully on June 11th at the Glebe Centre, at the age of 92. Mom will be dearly missed by her children Kathleen Bonvie (Reg), Patrick White and Stephen White (Joan), and grandchildren Bryant, Laura, and Kaitlyn as well as her younger sister Gwen Hayes. There are many nieces, nephews and friends who will also miss her. Maureen was pre-deceased by her loving husband Bryant White, her parents Thomas Kerr and Marian Boland, her siblings Edna, Gorman, Ainslie, Eleanor, George, Monty, and Brian.
Maureen was also pre-deceased by her second husband Donald Pinsonneault, and fondly remembered by stepdaughters Dianne, Judie, Cathy, Donna, Celeste and Robin, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maureen grew up in Sandy Hill and was very much a caregiver in all aspects of her life. She became a nurse and rose to management position in Health Canada before she retired. She loved to bake, she loved to paint and do crafts of all sorts, but mostly she loved to organize family get-togethers. As a result of her deep Catholic faith and strong drive to support missions, prayer and the Oblate community, Maureen was named an Honorary Oblate of Mary Immaculate.
Heartfelt thanks to Maureen’s care team at the Glebe Centre, for their care and compassion.
A visitation will be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Church, 174 Wilbrod Street with visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glebe Centre (long-term care) or the Medical Friends of Peru would be appreciated.
