Maurice Patrick Kennedy

4 November 1928 - 3 February 2025

Maurice passed away peacefully at the age of 96. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Mildred Cuddihey (2 May 2021).

He is now reunited with Mildred, and will be lovingly remembered by his children, Marie (late Vic Devries), Gerald, and Brian. Memories of him will be deeply cherished by his grandchildren, Adam (mother Daphne Cooke), Katlyn (Geoffrey Stowe), and Brendan (father Claude Bellerive), as well as his three great-granddaughters, Elisabeth, Madeleine, and Gabrielle, whom he adored.

He also leaves behind his dear sister Margaret (late James Cuddihy) along with many nieces, nephews, and treasured family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents James Kennedy and Katherine Daly, brothers Francis and Thomas (late Bessie Daly) and sisters Teresa and Clare (late Neil O'Neill).

Maurice grew up in Farrellton, Quebec, and, alongside his cherished late wife, Mildred, raised his family in Aylmer, Quebec, where he remained for the rest of his life. He began his working life as a brakeman for CN. He left that career, but later returned to CN, where he eventually retired, always fondly recalling his times on the railroad.

He was an active member of St Mark's Parish and dedicated his time to serving others through Meals on Wheels. His family will forever cherish his memory as a smart, caring, and devoted family man.

The family will receive condolences at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 13th, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Parish in Aylmer, Quebec. Following the service, the family welcomes relatives and friends to a reception to celebrate Maurice’s life. Interment will take place at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Martindale, Quebec, at a later date.
