I was saddened by the news of Nabil's death; my condolences to the whole family. I remember when I was  a young boy and Emile and Nabil ran the store on Carleton Ave. On occasion, I would go work for them, moving soda bottles, sweeping, cleaning up. For this I would get paid a little bit, but the real pay-off was lunch; my first exposure to hummus, green onions and pita. We'd shoot the breeze, and as a result we became friends over the late '50's and early '60's. I lost track of the Barakat brothers over time , but I always remember the kindness and the interesting, warm conversations we had . I'm sorry to hear of Nabil's death, and my best wishes to the family.
