Yip, Ngah Yuen - Known to everyone as "Grandma" left this world just as she lived her life - peacefully and gracefully with her family by her side on March 21, 2012 at the age of 103 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Annie (Kelly), Allen (April), Shirley (predeceased by William), and Jensen (Linda); her grandchildren Florence (Jeff), Gail (Henry), Brian (Doris), Bella, Vivian, Christina, Wayne, and Angie; and her 6 great grandchildren. She touched the lives of many with her contagious smile and her generous heart.
Friends are invited to pay respects at McEvoy-Shields 1411 Hunt Club Road on Sunday, March 25th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. A celebration of Grandma's life will take place Monday, March 26th in the chapel at 11 a.m. Special thanks to the caring staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for making her final days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chinese Christian Church of Ottawa – 116 Empress Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1R 7G2.
