It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend Patricia "Pat" Mae Byers (nee Jones). Pat passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2020 at her home in Ottawa. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend Robert "Bob" Byers to whom she was married for 43 years. She is survived by her children Tracy (Aaron), Janet (Ed), and John, as well as her grandchildren Natalie, Carolyn, Aidan, Kayla, Taryn, Declan, and Kaitlyn. Remembered fondly by her husband’s siblings Mary, Martin and Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. Born in Toronto, she initially worked as a bookkeeper, but chose to leave work and devote her life to her family. After relocating to Ottawa, she became a volunteer with Suzart Productions where she was known by many of her wonderful friends as "Ma."
A private memorial service will be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1V 1A6 Tel. 613-737-7900 on Tuesday, July 7th, 2020 . In memory of Pat, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
