I was so sad to read of Paul's passing and want to send my loving condolences to Carolann and to Erin and Jason.Paul's gentle and respectful manner made it such a pleasure to work with him.

So sorry to hear of Paul's passing CarolAnn. Actually was thinking about him just the other day. He was an especially warm and welcoming person and a great Sensei. I remember him fondly for his humour, knowledge & encouragement to students like Dave Eggleton, Frank Duggan, Ellen Kennedy, Suzanne Mason, Steve Crowther, me and so many others. When my peonies blossom in the Spring, I think of Paul and every fall while putting my garden to bed I think of Paul. Many a conversation was had over gardens and transplanting etc. Such a gentle man with a kind heart and a wonderful laugh.Be at peace Paul.

I am so saddened by Paul's passing. For many years he was like a second father to me. He supported me at times with a meal, a job and even a place to live. He always expected more from me than I expected of myself. While we hadn't been in contact the past few years, I always remembered you guys as my second family. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to validate how much effort and love he gave as a father to both his children and me, his extra daughter. I'll never forget his laugh or his intolerance for BS. I was truly blessed to have had him as part of my life and fortunate we had the opportunity to reconnect and reminisce. 
I don't know how to say goodbye so instead I'll say thank you Paul, your support and love made a huge difference in my life.

Dear Carolann and Jason, I consider myself as privileged to have come across a person, who in spite of a multitude of early life challenges, found a way to not only write a better life script for himself, but dedicated his core to improving the life scripts of so many people around him. Paul was utterly magnetic, caring, and genuinely concerned about the welfare of others. There are so many examples in my own life where I recognize the stamp of Paul when I analyse my own choices, interactions, and even the commitments to helping others that I know are in some part a bi-product of his positive influence. Lisa and I are disheartened that we cannot make it back to Ottawa in time for the celebration of Paul's life, but I know that you and Jason recognize that we will continue to celebrate this truly special father, husband, and mentor each time that we will come together in the future. Paul has earned a space in God' house and while his last decade had been difficult for you both, he can now rest. I am not able to say goodbye to this dear friend as he will continue to live and glow vibrantly both in you, Jason, and the magnificently devoted extended family you both have cultivated. If the creation of enduring friendship is like a blossoming flower then Paul nurtured an immense garden of perennials.  All my love in your time of mourning.

I am so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. I always enjoyed seeing him and chatting with him when we visited Ottawa. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Carolann, Jason, Erin and the grandkids.

Paul was a good man who did what he could to help others. We always enjoyed visits with him, and his garden which flourished under his care. He made the world a better place, and he will be missed. Our thoughts are with Jason and Carolann. He was proud of them and they supported him well through his health struggles the past few years. Rest in peace Paul, you earned it!
