Mrs Pelagia Jarzabek, age 93, died suddenly on November 6, 2018 at Montfort Hospital. She had been residing at Laurier Manor over the last couple of months. Since the passing of her husband, Paul Jarzabek, she often mentioned missing him dearly and was looking forward to being with him again in eternity. She prided herself in being fiercely independent as long as she could, and maintained her house and garden with minimal help. She loved flowers and made sure that there were always flowers growing in her garden and around the house. On summer days, we would often find her tending to her flowers in the garden. She is survived by her brother, Czeslaw Kukawka, and two nephews: Ryszard and Andrzej, all in Poland plus grand-nieces in Poland and France. She also leaves her one cousin in Canada: Ludwig Dabrowski. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Friday, November 9 from 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 10 at St-Hyacinth Church, 201 Lebreton Street, followed by burial at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street.
