Peter will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who appreciated the beauty and tranquility of nature. He was an avid historian and storyteller, and he shared this passion as the Communications Security Establishment and the Union of National Defence Employees Historian, and as a writer and editor for the Canadian Stories magazine. He maintained a lifelong commitment to his faith and spiritualism, and was a well-loved member of the church community.
Peter is survived by his loving companion, Louise; his daughter, Niky; son, Timothy and grandchildren, Amelia and Nathan. Peter was predeceased by his wife, Susan; his sister, Carole; and brothers, David and Michael.
He was well respected and loved by all of his family and friends, and will be missed dearly.
As per his wishes, a memorial service will not be held. However, Peter would have sincerely appreciated any donations made in his honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary.
