Raymond passed away from complications due to the Covid 19 virus while residing in his second home – The Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre.
Raymond is survived by his parents Oscar Desormeaux and Jeannette (Patry), sisters Alice Burley (Grant), Helene (Jean Carriere), Louise, Jeannine (Mario Ouellette), Jacqueline (Mike Witte) and brother Jean-Guy (Doris McAllister), several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, great grand niece and cousins.
Raymond lived with his parents since birth until recently where he resided at the Perley. He loved people, family gatherings and parties where he could sing, dance and play his guitar. He was special to all his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Raymond had a buddy friendship with his father who often teased one another but mom was the one he went to when he needed care.
We would like to thank our special aunts for the support they have shown and continue to provide to our family. We also like to thank the residents at the Perley who took Raymond under their wing to make him feel at home in his new surroundings. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the tireless health care providers at the Perley who took exceptional care of Raymond. Especially during the latter stages of his illness when they would insure he was not alone in his hour of need when visitation was not possible and family members could only wait and hope.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we ask for no visitors at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home.
