Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday September 4, 2015, in Ottawa at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Thérèse (née Gervais) for over 63 years. Loving and devoted father of Guy (Simone), Monique (Gilles) Binda, and Carole (Daniel) Corkery. Cherished “Grand-Papa” of Paul, Marc, Eric, Chantal, Natalie, Shannon and Matthew. Dear brother of Robert (Nicole) and Louise (Jean-Louis) Genest. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Albini and Irène, and siblings, Maurice, Edouard, Ida, Raymond, Denise and Rita. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of The Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, Intensive Care Unit, for their compassionate care. Friends may call at Racine Robert & Gauthier Funeral home (180 Montreal Rd), on Wednesday evening September 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 10, at l’Eglise Sainte-Geneviève (825 Canterbury Avenue) at 10 a.m. Memorial donations to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
