

After a brief illness, Renée Warner peacefully passed away with family by her side at the Ottawa General Hospital on December 23, 2023, at the age of 78.
Renée was predeceased by her loving husband, Glen (2007), her sister Suzanne Carter (2022), and her devoted parents, Robert and Betty Marcotte. She is survived by her beloved son, Jeffrey, and daughter-in-law, Christine, her aunt Benoite, brother Carl (Sue), nieces Natalie (Tyler, Dylan, Rylee), and Joanna (Scott, Sydney, Madison), and nephews Todd, Paul, and Dave. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she will be dearly missed by many friends and extended family.
Prior to her retirement, Renée dedicated her career to the Ottawa Catholic School Board, serving at St. Bernard and St. Mark High School, where she forged lifelong friendships. Her passions included cherishing moments with friends, being an avid Elvis enthusiast, and indulging in her love for travel. Notably, she made an annual Christmas pilgrimage to Vancouver and a cherished journey to Graceland.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON K1V1A6, on Thursday, January 4, 2023, after 1:30 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Renée's life will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m., followed by a Reception at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions in Renée's memory be made to MS Canada, a cause that held special significance for her.
