I am saddened by the news of Rasheed's passing. I always enjoyed our conversations together when we met. He was a good friend to my grandfather Diab Boushey and my mother and father Doris and Rene. May he rest in peace,

My deepest sympathy to my cousin Amal on the loss of her sainted husband. Though I had not seen Racheed in years, I recall him from my youth as an ebullient larger than life man who knew how to take control and get the job done: all with a great sense of humour. A wonderful and rare person. Condolences to his direct and extended family as well.

This announcement brought me to tears .Racheed was my father Michel Saikaly’s best friend .As I grew up I was introduced to Racheed as a very respectful man and my fathers best friend.Every time I was at a function and Racheed would come up from behind me and jab me in the Ribs and startle me .I would turn around to find this wonderful man with a giant smile .His kind words would always make my day .Racheed was one of a kind with a heart of gold .God rest his sole !
