Richard Meilord Jacobs

Richard M. Jacobs, of Aylmer, Quebec, Canada, known affectionately to friends and family as Richie, passed away peacefully at the age of 60 on January 22, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in St. Andrew, Jamaica, West Indies, in 1965, Richie was a man who touched lives across the globe. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his mother, Daphne; and his children, Jermaine (Phal) and Jellice (Daryl); He was the proud grandfather of Jahleel, Hazaiah, Jakim, Eitan, and Anayah.

Richie also leaves behind his brothers, Michael (Audrey), Paul, and Dayne; his nieces, Chantal and Dayna; his nephews, Mikael, Rasheem, and Mario; and his grand-nephew, Preston and grand-niece, Mia.

He also leaves behind a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members (including in-laws), and dear friends across Canada, England, Jamaica, Germany, and the United States.

Visitation will be held at McEvoy - Shields Funeral Homes & Chapel, located at 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K1V 1A6, Canada, on March 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The funeral service will take place in the Chapel on March 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Reception to follow from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
