Robert Bourdon

Bourdon le 8 mai à l’âge de 75 ans. Cher fils de feu Fernand et Laurette (née Groulx)

Bourdon, époux d’Andrée Robertson et père bien-aimé de Nathalie (Ken Chartrand), il

était aussi le fier grand-père d’Ethan et Kyle Chartrand. Il laisse également dans le

deuil ses soeurs Louise (Serge Huneault), Pierrette (François Séguin), sa “grande

soeur”Claudette Groulx et ses frères Pierre (Lorraine Mahlig), André (Hélène Gauthier)

et Michel (Daniel Proulx) ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousin(e)s et ami(e)s.

Après une belle carrière à la Fonction publique du Canada, Robert a passé ses

dernières années à semer partout la joie et la fierté de son héritage franco-ontarien par

la musique et les chansons traditionnelles. Robert valorisait avant tout les valeurs

familiales et il était d’une grande gentillesse et d’une générosité sans fin. Il nous

manquera beaucoup.

La famille tient à remercier le personnel de la section Nord-Est du 6e étage ainsi que

les médecins de l’Hôpital Général d’Ottawa et tout spécialement le personnel de la

Villa Saint-Luc à Curran pour leur dévouement, les soins et l’attention qu’ils lui on

donnés.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Bourdon on May 8th at the age

of 75. Son of the late Fernand and Laurette (née Groulx) Bourdon, he is survived by his

wife Andrée Robertson, his cherished daughter Nathalie (Ken Chartrand) and grand

sons, Ethan and Kyle Chartrand. He will also be sorely missed by his sisters, Louise

(Serge Huneault), Pierrette (François Séguin), his “big sister” Claudette Groulx, his

brothers Pierre (Lorraine Mahlig), André (Hélène Gauthier) and Michel (Daniel Proulx)

and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

After a wonderful career in the Public Service of Canada, Robert spent his retirement

years spreading joy and pride of his Franco-Ontarian heritage through music and

traditional songs. Above all, he championed family values and will be remembered as

a kind man of great generosity. He will be fondly remembered.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of the North-East Section of

the 6th floor and the doctors of the Ottawa General Hospital and especially the staff of

the Villa Saint-Luc in Curran for the compassion and the support they provided to

Robert.
