Bob passed peacefully at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital following a short illness. He was a loving and devoted spouse to Elizabeth (Betty) Holmes for 60 years and a proud Dad to Jennifer (Tom Macdonald) and Leslie (Steve Zlepnig). Cherished Grampy to Autumn and Della and Grandfather to Neale and Carthy.
A fond brother-in-law of Josephine Gorman, Merle (Yvonne), Charles (Lorna), Raymond (Doris), Donald (Judy) Holmes. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Ottawa, Bob grew-up in Little Italy, raised his family in Elmvale Acres, and spent his retirement years enjoying life in Greely. He provided the very best to his family including camping every summer with cousins and travelling across Canada.
Bob is now in heaven with his parents Allan and Eleanor (Lynch), siblings Donald (Josephine), Patricia Little (Milton) and his dogs Happy, Scooter and Misty.
The family would like to thank Dr. O'Connell, Gord, Nurse Pam Roberts from Winchester, the staff at Waterford Retirement Ottawa, My Place Home Care and the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital's Palliative Care Unit including Dr. Watt, Joy, Claire, Chris, Shawn, Jackie and cleaning staff.
A service will be held at Our Lady of Visitation Church, 5338 Bank St. on Wednesday, December 23 at 10 am. Please call McEvoy-Shields to schedule your attendance at the Mass.
