Robert "Bobby" Guertin

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert “Bobby” Guertin on June 17, 2025, at the age of 65 and after a courageous but long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at home with his wife by his side.

Bobby was the beloved husband of Laurie Voyer of 17 years and devoted father of Ashley Houle and Derek Warren (Samantha) and grandfather of Aurora, Amelia, Desmond, Jackson, Kingston and Maisie. Loving son of Geraldine (nee Bishop). He will be greatly missed by his brother Richard (Audrey), sisters Lorraine Nicastro (Rob) and Christine, his nieces Julia and Christina and nephews Salvatore, Stefano, Luca, Duane and Jason; his goddaughter Lianne (Joel), and longtime friend of the family Jack Latreille who considered him to be the son he never had, and family and close friends. He was predeceased by his father Montfort (Monty) and brother Marc.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, unvarnished honesty coupled with a sense of humor, passion for music and playing pool. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Bruyere Palliative team and the Bayshore Nursing and PSW team for the care and empathy extended throughout Bobby’s cancer journey and final phase of life.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa on Thursday June 26th from 10 am – 12 noon. Interment will follow at 2pm at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 6831 Harbour Street, Fitzroy Harbour.
