Robert James Rodger

(Bob or Red) Rodger passed away on Sunday February 18, 2018. Born in Malartic PQ March 14,1939. He leaves behind Lucette, the love of his life, who he devotedly cared for through many challenges. Predeceased by his mother Maggie (Roy), father George (Orme) and sister Jane. Survived by his brother George (Lorraine), his sons David, Marc (Christine) and Brian (Lesley). He will be missed by his grandchildren Maggie, Jakob and Nikolas. Bob graduated from Queens in mining engineering. He travelled Canada and the world developing mines through his work/consulting with the World Bank and other organizations. A bright, strong willed man of few words who had a big heart and liberally gave hearty hugs. The family would like to thank all the TOH physicians, the staff of Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital and Bruyere Villages who provided excellent care for Bob. A special thanks to Dr. Lawlor and nurse Nancy for their compassionate care in Bob’s final hours. There will be a visitation on Saturday March 3rd from 2 to 4 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa. In Bob’s memory, hug a loved one and make a donation (if you can) to your local Alzheimer’s society or charity of your choice.
