Je garderai un très beau souvenir de Roger Snelling comme une personne droit et poser et très réfléchit.
 
Je suis triste aussi qu'il n'a pu profiter plus longtemps de sa retraite et de prendre beaucoup de temps avec ses petits enfants.

Dear Sheila and family. I knew Roger at CN and just found a picture of he and I at his retirement party. He was always a gentleman and when asked how he was always answered "faaaaaantastic" no matter how difficult the situation, CN's loss was the community's gain. He will be greatly missed by all. Peter and Pam, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Peter's dad.  I know well your sorrow.  Please know that I am thinking of you in this difficult time and sending you my sympathies.

All of us here at ACEM were deeply saddened by the news that Roger had passed. His years of dedication to the Montreal Community Loan Fund as an investor, board member and as its President have had a lasting impact on the heart and soul as well as the nuts and bolts of the organisation. It is difficult to imagine ACEM without Roger! We will miss his critically wise and  good natured support, his passion for social and economic justice and his outstanding leadership. He was a unique and loving spirit and we feel blessed to have had the privilege to know and work with him.

Roger was a wonderful leader in the community finance and community economic development movement in Canada. He is one of the first people I met when we were learning about community loan funds from the Montreal Community Loan Association (ACEM). Back in 1997-2000, ACEM hosted a national conference around community economic development. Roger was a prominent, mission driven, compassionate and insightful leader. We modelled our Loan Fund after ACEM. HIs legacy continues in many places I am sure. It was great to have known such a special person.

The CAIC Board  & staff were saddened to hear of Roger's passing. We remember him with gratitude for his service on CAIC's Board of Directors. Our deepest sympathy to his wife & family.

Roger and I talked a lot that visit about the work he had done in social justice, he was such a giving man. They were such wonderful stories. Dear Sheila and family, I have such fond memories of Roger and how he made me feel so welcome at Presbytery. My prayers go out to you.

I am saddened to learn this news. Sheila Snelling was a very young teacher at Cedar Park School in Pointe Claire, when I was enrolled in her grade 7 class. Looking back, when you are twelve, everyone over the age of 16 seems REALLY old, but I don't suppose Sheila and Roger had been married for more than a couple of years and she became pregnant with their first child. I remember a group of us trooped up to their apartment  - those apartments right across from John Rennie I think - and gave them a card of something after the baby was born. I remember meeting Roger at the time and he and Sheila was so gracious and kind to us kids. Indeed, a gracious spirit has left us.

Dear Sheila, James and I were saddened by the news of Roger's death. May God's spirit sustain and uphold you during this difficult time of loss. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Sheila, I am sorry to hear this sad news. Roger was always willing to do the "heavy lifting" especially around finances, and he did this with grace and in deep faith.
