It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Roman Klaudiusz Przybycien breathed his last breath at 80 years of age and left this earthly life on the morning of January 31, 2013, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband to Rosita and devoted father to Luisa, Helena (and her husband Michael) and Paul (and his wife Marcia), Roman was born in Wilno, Poland on July 20, 1932. After many peregrinations through Europe, Asia, and Africa during and after the second world war, Roman settled in England in 1948 with his parents, where he completed his engineering studies. He emigrated to Canada in 1966 with his young family and began his career as a successful entrepreneur and businessman (Insul Coustic Limited) until his retirement. Reader, polyglot, lover of sports cars and fine wines, and avid skier, he mastered many mountains in North America and Europe. His life's work and pleasures were filled with friends and family in Canada, Poland, Italy, and England. Roman's vitality, faith, intelligence, generosity, determination, resilience, love of the outdoors, and zest for life will continue as a guiding legacy for his family and especially for his four grandsons - Thomas, Matthew, Justin and Christopher - whom he cherished greatly. Roman now rests in eternal peace, love and salvation. Our thanks are extended to the incredible team of health professionals who took such attentive care of our most precious husband, father, and grandfather over the past four and a half years. Donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully accepted in his memory. Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate his life at the funeral mass to take place at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 5th at Notre Dame Cathedral, 385 Sussex Drive.
