Nancy,

I will always remember Roy's big personality.  He would walk into the building and brighten up the room.  He really cared about the children in his care.  I met many people at Laidlaw over the years but will never forget him.  He often spoke of you and it was obvious how happy you made him.  Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers and hold your memories of him close for comfort.

I remember Roy when he & his brother & sister were young kids.  The last time that I saw him he was so proud that his son wanted to go to university.  Roy was a genuinely nice guy & you had to love him.  My sympathy to the family.

My dad and Roy were great friends for years(they met at their work before I was born) which extended over to him being a close family friend to many of my family members.  I remember many times as a young girl, that he and my dad would hang out together, and Chris and I would play.( usually with those darn He-Man toys!)  I have so many great memories with Roy and Chris, too many to mention.  When I was younger, Roy use to call me every year on my birthday as we shared the same date of February 26 and we were 26 years apart.  He was always so kind to me and made me smile.  Roy, you are at peace now, and I will miss you.  Love Kim

Roy,Chris and I spent 13years together.  Chris was a very young boy when I joined their family.  We had many good years together and some tough ones.  
One thing I am most greatful to Roy for is that he showed me the way to my faith.  That was a very special gift he gave me.  We used to love to go the church together as a family.  Roy taught me alot about his religion.  Roy was very understanding with me when it came to coping with my fears.
I will always remember the special times.

Dear Nancy
Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are in Florida at this time so cannot attend the funeral.

Uncle Roy - you have always been like my second Dad, and so so often told me "I was the daughter you never had".  I will cherish those words FOREVER!!  Your smile, laughter, honesty and the stories you told of when you were younger, will last a lifetime.  You will always hold that 'Special' place in my heart and no words can describe just how much I am going to miss you.  "Until We Meet Again".  Love you more !!

Roy and his sister, Jeannie, didn't always see eye to eye but there was a whole lot of love and respect between the two of them.  I imagine them catching up now with a lot of laughter and tears.  Roy was always there to help when help was needed:  moving, renovations, car repairs, building fences and we had the greatest family dinners and get-togethers.  I'm really missing you already, Roy.

Roy had a great sense of humour , and he always said what he was thinking .  I liked both of those traits .  What I didn't like was his abundance of flowing locks of hair on his head(being a bald guy myself) .  He was also blessed with a wonderful wife, Nancy .   I'll miss Roy and my warmest wishes go out to Nancy .
