Ruby Georgina Harris

Peacefully in her sleep on Jan 15th 2025, at the age of 96. Born in Windsor to the late Emma and Thomas Hannan. Predeceased by her husband Owen Harris and son Richard Harris (Judy) plus sisters Lois Dozois (Art) and May Ackland (Walter) and brothers Stephen (Fern) and Grayson (Pat).

Survived by her daughter Lynda Plunkett (late Brian Plunkett), grandchildren Mark (Chantal) and Melissa (Steve) and great grandchildren Liam, Clara and the late Thomas.

Beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews and cherished by so many friends.

Ruby lived a life full of grace, kindness and unwavering love for her family and friends. In her day, she had such a passion for painting, bowling and dancing. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind including her second family at Windsor Park Retirement Home. Thank you to the loving staff who deeply cared for her.

Friends and family may pay respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10 am. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 11 am with a reception after.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's or Dementia Society are appreciated.
