Sonia Raina

Peacefully on March 20, 2011, in her 72nd year, cherished, beloved wife and best friend of Dominic “Nick” A. Raina. Sonia and Nick were married June 15, 1956 at the RCAF Station, Whitehorse in the RCAF chapel. Sonia is predeceased by her parents Ilya and Paulina Thomas and by her treasured infant daughter Debra Anne. Survived by her adored sons Kenneth (Barbara) and David. Proud and devoted grandmother of Nicholas. Sonia is survived by her brothers and sisters Katherine Fenske, Dr. Theodore Thomas (Lillian), Anne Borgs, Mary Thomas, John Thomas and very close nieces Janice Krill and Beth Jefferson. She will be greatly missed by her many sisters and brothers-in-law Mary, Ralph (Cathie), Louis (Elsie), Jim (Nancy), Anne (Grant Cameron) and numerous nieces and nephews. “Happy fishing in the peaceful blue waters in heaven Sonia. May your berry baskets be overflowing with the fruits of the beautiful fields and your arms filled with yellow roses.” Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road), on Wednesday, March 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, March 24 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
