Violet Agnes Pickard

Born May 15, 1913, died August 8, 2011 in her 99th year. Agnes lived her first 90 years in Montreal and Dorval where she was involved at Wesley United Church, the Dorval Horticultural Society and numerous bridge clubs. She moved to Ottawa in 2003 and has been a resident of Lynwood Park Retirement Lodge ever since. Agnes leaves behind her nephew Joe Pickard (Joyce) and nieces Carol Redfern (Peter) of Courtenay, BC and Nancy Lusk (Keith) and 11 great nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her nephew Bob (Helen). Agnes will be sadly missed by all. One of her last thoughts was her hope that Canada remain the wonderful country that it is. A small reception will be held at Lynwood Park Retirement Lodge, 1 Eaton Street in Bells Corners, on Sunday, August 14th at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Grenville, Quebec at a future date in her family’s plot. Donations can be made in Agnes’ name to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation or the Ottawa Human Society.
