Passed away on October 20, 2016 at the age of 87 at the Embassy West Hospice in Ottawa after his battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Helen who passed away in February 2016. Loving father of Donna MacMillan (Don), Norine (Gary Babaluk), David, Larry (Karen) and predeceased by Lorri. Cherished grandfather of Scott MacMillan. Brother to Jack (Anne) of Winnipeg and Ken (Elsie) of Toronto. Walter is predeceased by his parents Walter Horace and Jessie Madge. Walter was born on April 21, 1929 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Thanks to the staff and many volunteers at the Embassy West Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. A special thanks to Dr Benjamin Robert and the doctors at the General Hospital Cancer Clinic. Friends and family may pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Saturday 29, 2016 from 1 pm - 3 pm.
