It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wijesena Karunaratna on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Kusum; loving father of Indima (Mahesh), Vidura (Anna) and Ruvini (Clint); devoted grandfather of Viann, Senya, Dylan, Priya, Seneth, Madden and Kaya. His loss is also mourned by extended family in Sri Lanka. We fondly remember a man who led a very principled, simple and humble life, who instilled in his children and grandchildren his unwavering commitment to help disadvantaged and underprivileged people have success in life. We would like to profoundly thank Dr. Peter Andrews, Dr. Reaume, Tia, Becky and Carole for the exceptional care they provided to our loved one. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Tuesday, October 6 from 6 pm - 9 pm and on Wednesday, October 7 from 10 am - 11 am.
