Winifred Hanlon

Wendy immigrated to Ottawa from Dumbarton Scotland in 1955 to live with her adoring sister Veronica.

She leaves in mourning her beloved husband, Robert. They married in 1958 and together built a beautiful family and enjoyed a very full life filled with love and joy.

An active member of her church, Wendy was a devout woman who embodied the values of her religion.

Wendy was a long-time employee of V.O.N. Canada. When she retired, she and Robert wintered in sunny Florida where she enjoyed her Zumba, line dancing and aquatic classes, as well as socializing with her many friends.

An amazing mother to Rob (Mandy) and Stephen (Shirley) and a doting and loving grandmother to Kyle (Liz), Brittany (Pierce), Sean (Nikki), and Jacob. Wendy was blessed with the love of 5 great-granddaughters whom she adored and spoke of endlessly: Sarah, Isla, Victoria, Lily and Eva – they will forever remember her lovely smile and big hugs.

Gone but never forgotten, Wendy will live on in our hearts forever. May she rest in eternal peace.

Funeral Mass for family and friends will be held on Thursday April 17, 2021 at 11 am in Saint Maurice Church.
