WWII, RCAF/CAF Veteran
Passed away peacefully on Thursday June 12th 2014, at the age of 93, at the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, Ottawa. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late Charles Roy and the late Anne-Marie Darveau. He served in the RCAF during the Second World War and in the RCAF/CAF during peacetime. After his military career he worked for Canadian Tire for a number of years. He was a long time resident of Chateau Vanier. Yvon is survived by his son Michael (Janyce), grandsons Daniel (Heather), Matthew (Stephanie) and Kevin (Sina), their mother Linda and great-grandchildren Charlotte, James, Sovanna and Kaia. A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday June 17th 2014 at 1p.m. at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home Chapel (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa). In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
